    A tire manufacturing logistics center handled a wide range of inbound boxes with varying sizes and shapes, relying heavily on manual unloading. Some boxes weighed nearly 50 lb, creating significant physical strain and increasing injury risk. Fluctuating inbound volumes further complicated workforce planning and made it difficult to maintain consistent operational efficiency.

    CMES Robotics deployed an AI 3D Vision–based Depalletizing Solution tailored to the logistics environment of the tire manufacturing plant.

    The system recognizes each box’s size, weight, and position, calculates the optimal robotic path, and automatically unloads it onto the designated area.
    Even when box dimensions or stacking patterns change, the robot continues to operate without additional teaching, enabling stable autonomous performance.

    A 6-axis industrial robot equipped with a multi-functional end-effector allows the system to handle various weights and packaging conditions, ensuring safe and reliable unloading.

  • Result

    The system processes 600 boxes per hour, improving throughput and integrating seamlessly with existing equipment. It accurately handles irregular stacks and achieved a payback period of just over one year. By reducing heavy manual lifting, the solution lowered injury risk and improved both worker safety and operational stability.
